The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Segun Aina, has resolved more than 5,000 outstanding complaints from candidates and other clients within five days of assuming office.
The complaints, which covered difficulties in creating profile codes, biometric failures, payment-related issues and other technical challenges, were addressed following the Registrar’s decision to strengthen the Board’s Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) Unit.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, Professor Aina relocated his seat to the SERVICOM Unit to gain first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by candidates and other clients seeking the Board’s services.
The statement explained that the Registrar’s presence at the unit enabled him to directly interact with complainants, understand their concerns and facilitate the prompt resolution of outstanding cases.
Benjamin said the move reflected Professor Aina’s commitment to using strategic communication and responsive service delivery to reposition JAMB and ensure that candidates receive services commensurate with the fees they pay.
The complaints resolved included difficulties in generating profile codes by candidates who previously registered with telephone numbers they no longer have access to, biometric verification failures, payment-related challenges, inappropriate examination venues and e-PIN issues.
Investigator news reports that other cases addressed involved technical difficulties and challenges associated with uploading required documents.
The Board said the development demonstrates the Registrar’s determination to place candidates and other stakeholders at the centre of JAMB’s operations while ensuring that complaints are treated promptly and effectively.
