The Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Dr. Seyi Jakande (JAKO), has received commendation from the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development for the impressive transformation recorded in the council area within his first year in office.
The commendation followed an inspection tour of landmark projects executed by the administration on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, during which Jakande also presented a comprehensive one-year scorecard highlighting the achievements and impact of his administration in the last 365 days.
The presentation provided an overview of the administration’s performance under the HEWA Agenda, with emphasis on key sectors including healthcare, road construction and drainage, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, agriculture, sports development and welfare support for elderly residents.
The inspection team was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, representing Kosofe I Constituency, alongside Hon. Tijani Surajudeen of Ojo II Constituency; Hon. Shabi Adebola of Lagos Mainland II Constituency; Hon. Abdulkareem Jubril of Agege II Constituency; Hon. Ege Olusegun of Ojo I Constituency; Hon. Apata Samuel of Somolu II Constituency; Hon. Kazeem Olayinka of Mushin II Constituency; and Hon. Orelope Lookman of Alimosho II Constituency.
During the tour, the lawmakers inspected various projects and facilities undertaken by the Jakande administration, assessing their quality, relevance and impact on residents across the LCDA.
Speaking after the inspection and review of the one-year scorecard, Hon. Okanlawon commended Jakande for what he described as remarkable transformation across Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye.
The Committee Chairman expressed satisfaction with the administration’s interventions in critical areas, particularly infrastructure, healthcare and sports development, while also applauding efforts aimed at maintaining and renewing the ageing infrastructure within the communities.
Okanlawon further described the projects as value-for-money investments, noting that their quality and visible impact demonstrated prudent management of public resources and a genuine commitment to improving the living conditions and welfare of residents.
He noted that the inspection was part of the oversight responsibilities of the Lagos State House of Assembly to monitor and assess ongoing and completed projects across Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in the state.
The exercise, according to the committee, also provides an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of local government administrations and ensure that public resources are deployed responsibly for the benefit of residents.
For Jakande, the commendation represents a further boost to his administration’s determination to consolidate the gains recorded in its first year while sustaining the implementation of the HEWA Agenda as a roadmap for grassroots development and improved service delivery.
