The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the Lagos State Chapter of the City Boy Movement was formally inaugurated.
AKOD made the declaration on Tuesday in Lagos during the inauguration ceremony, which attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, local government chairmen, youth leaders and APC stakeholders from across the state.
The event marked a major step in the expansion of the City Boy Movement’s grassroots structure in Lagos, with a renewed focus on youth mobilisation, political participation and strengthening support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, AKOD commended the leadership of the City Boy Movement for creating a platform capable of engaging young people and mobilising grassroots supporters around the programmes and policies of the Tinubu administration.
He pledged to continue working with relevant stakeholders across Lagos State to strengthen the APC at the grassroots and mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election, as well as for other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
AKOD also stressed the importance of youth participation in the political process, noting that young people remain critical to building a stronger political structure and ensuring sustained support for progressive governance.
Among the dignitaries at the inauguration were Amir Kashim Shettima (Jnr.), son of the Vice President of Nigeria and Co-Patron of the City Boy Movement; Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement; Barrister Oluwaseyi Tinubu, Founder of the City Boy Movement, who was represented by the National Secretary, Tosin Odufuwa; and Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakassai, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-West).
Other APC leaders, local government chairmen, youth leaders and supporters also attended the ceremony.
The inauguration provided an opportunity for stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to expanding the movement’s presence across Lagos and deepening grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
AKOD reiterated his readiness to collaborate with the leadership of the movement, APC stakeholders and youth organisations to build a formidable grassroots network capable of delivering electoral success for the party.
He further assured that he would remain committed to the ideals of the APC and continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting youth participation, grassroots development and the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
