Amuwo Odofin, Lagos –The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development has commended the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi, for his administration’s impressive developmental strides, particularly in infrastructure and grassroots governance.
The commendation came during the Committee’s statutory oversight visit to the Council to evaluate the implementation, impact, and sustainability of ongoing and completed projects, as well as assess governance practices, financial accountability, and service delivery.
Investigator news reports that the delegation was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Sanni Babatunde Okanlawon, representing Kosofe Constituency I.
Other members included Hon. Jubril Ayodeji Abdulkareem (Agege Constituency II), Hon. Suraj Tijani (Ojo Constituency II), Hon. Olusegun Ege (Ojo Constituency I), Hon. Samuel Apata (Somolu Constituency I), Hon. (Dr.) Wale Rauf Age-Sulaimon (Amuwo-Odofin Constituency II), Hon. Stephen Ogundipe (Oshodi Constituency I), Hon. Aro Moshood (Ikorodu Constituency II), Hon. Musibau Lawal (Apapa Constituency II), Hon. Kehinde Joseph (Alimosho Constituency II), and Hon. Ajayi Oluwadamilare (Isolo Constituency I).
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Okanlawon stated that the oversight exercise was designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public resources while evaluating the performance of Local Government administrations across the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of projects executed by the Sanusi-led administration, describing the council’s infrastructural development as a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and commitment to grassroots transformation.
While applauding the administration’s achievements, the Committee urged Hon. Sanusi to sustain the momentum by expanding developmental initiatives in key sectors, including healthcare services for underserved communities, ICT and technology hubs, vocational training centres, improved security, and other people-centred programmes that would further enhance the quality of life of residents.
Hon. Okanlawon also underscored the importance of teamwork in governance, calling on the Councillors, Supervisors, and the Management Team, led by the Council Manager, Mr. Olusegun Akinyemi, to continue supporting the Executive Chairman through innovative ideas, effective collaboration, and diligent implementation of government policies to accelerate development across Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
Responding, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi expressed appreciation to the Committee for its objective assessment and valuable recommendations.
He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering impactful projects and programmes that promote good governance, economic growth, and improved living standards for residents.
The Executive Chairman assured the lawmakers that his administration would continue to initiate and execute sustainable, people-oriented projects in line with the developmental agenda of the Lagos State Government, while remaining accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the people of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
