There was excitement and jubilation at the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Secretariat on Thursday as the newly posted Council Manager, Mr. Samuel Olusegun Akinyemi, formally resumed duty and presented his release letter to the Executive Chairman of the council, Prince Lanre Sanusi.

The atmosphere at the council secretariat was festive as members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) from both Imota and Amuwo-Odofin gathered to welcome the seasoned administrator to his new assignment.

Officials of Imota NULGE expressed mixed feelings over Mr. Akinyemi’s transfer, describing him as a dedicated and humane administrator whose service greatly impacted staff and governance in Imota Local Council Development Area. However, members of Amuwo-Odofin NULGE expressed joy and optimism over his deployment, noting that his wealth of administrative experience would further strengthen service delivery within the council.

Following the formal introduction of the council’s management team and principal officers, the new Council Manager was taken on a familiarization tour of offices within the secretariat in FESTAC Town. The tour, led by the Executive Chairman alongside management staff, gave Mr. Akinyemi the opportunity to interact with political office holders, departmental heads, and public servants across the local government.

Among dignitaries and officials who received him were the Council Chairman, Human Resource Officer, Council Treasurer, management staff, and NULGE executives.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Akinyemi acknowledged the responsibilities attached to his new office and pledged to promote harmony, professionalism, and effective collaboration between political office holders and the administrative arm of the local government.

He further assured staff of his readiness to deploy his administrative expertise toward strengthening institutional synergy, improving productivity, and ensuring efficient grassroots governance in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
