In a sustained effort to reinforce inter-agency collaboration and bolster the security framework in Delta State, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, alongside members of the Command Management Team, paid courtesy visits to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
At the NSCDC State Command, the CP was received by the State Commandant, Commandant Chinedu Fabian Igbo. During the engagement, CP Oyeniyi emphasised the importance of strong collaboration among security agencies, noting that effective policing depends on timely intelligence sharing, mutual respect, and coordinated operations.
He commended the existing partnership between the Police and the NSCDC, especially in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, and called for continued cooperation in tackling emerging security challenges across the state.
Similarly, at the FRSC Sector Command (Sector 5.2), the CP was received by the Sector Commander, Charles Eyo Edem. He praised the Corps for its dedication to road safety management and its efforts in reducing traffic-related incidents.
The CP highlighted the need for joint operations to ensure safety on major highways and stressed the importance of sustained information exchange and operational support between both agencies.
Reiterating his commitment to improved security, CP Oyeniyi noted that collaboration remains central to achieving effective results, adding that no single agency can operate successfully in isolation.
He assured both the FRSC and NSCDC of the Police Command’s readiness to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in crime prevention, emergency response, and public awareness.
The visits form part of the Commissioner’s broader strategy to promote unity of purpose among security stakeholders and enhance collective efforts to protect lives and property in Delta State.
