The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, has intensified proactive policing efforts with a supervisory and visibility tour of strategic security locations across Asaba, Ugbolu, and surrounding communities.

The tour covered critical flashpoints including the Second Niger Bridge, Asaba Head Bridge, and the Ugbolu–Illah Road intervention point, where the Commissioner assessed security deployments and interacted with officers on duty.

CP Oyeniyi commended personnel for their commitment to duty but stressed that the command would not tolerate misconduct or negative complaints from members of the public.
He directed officers to maintain proper dressing, professional conduct, and a smart appearance at all times, emphasizing that their behavior must reflect the core values and standards of the Nigeria Police Force.

While addressing officers, the Commissioner highlighted that their deployment was aimed at monitoring activities, preventing crime, and correcting any wrongdoing within their areas of responsibility.
He charged them to remain vigilant, professionally observe movements, and treat members of the public with courtesy and respect.

CP Oyeniyi also warned against any form of harassment, abuse, or incivility, stressing that policing must be carried out with a human face and in strict compliance with human rights standards.
As part of the inspection, the Commissioner visited the Area Command, Asaba, alongside ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ Divisions within the Asaba metropolis, where he addressed Divisional Police Officers and personnel.

During the visit, he reiterated the importance of discipline, professionalism, and integrity, specifically cautioning officers against extortion, noting that such acts erode public confidence and would attract strict disciplinary measures.
The Commissioner further reassured residents of Delta State of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He also urged members of the public to support the Police by providing credible and timely information to enhance security across the state.
