Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has called on residents of Kogi State to embrace peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, love, and unity as Christians celebrate Easter.
In his Easter message personally signed on Saturday 4, April 2026,the governor described the season as a period for reflection, renewal, and commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous society.
Ododo also reaffirmed his administration’s determination to protect lives and property, strengthen security architecture, and create an enabling environment for sustainable development across the state.
“As we join Christians across our dear state, Nigeria, and the world to celebrate Easter, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all.”
“Easter is a sacred season that reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice, love, and the triumph of hope over despair,” he said.
According to the governor, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ offer profound lessons in sacrifice, humility, forgiveness, and renewal, stressing that the values should guide citizens toward unity and progress.
“At a time when our state and nation continue to strive for greater unity, peace, and prosperity, Easter calls on us all to embrace these virtues in our daily lives.”
“It challenges us to put the collective good above personal interests and remain steadfast in our commitment to building a better society,” he added.
Ododo went further to note that his administration remains committed to consolidating achievements recorded in security, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic growth, while appreciating residents for their resilience and support.
He urged Kogites to use the Easter period to strengthen bonds of unity, extend love to one another, and support the less privileged in society.

The governor also called on residents to pray for Kogi State, Nigeria, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism for continued peace and progress.
He concluded by wishing residents a joyful Easter celebration, praying that the season brings renewed hope, strength, and blessings to the state and the nation.
