The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has received the management team of the Lagos State Parks & Gardens Agency (LASPARK) led by its General Manager, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola (née Nelson), at the Ikeja House.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between LASPARK and Ikeja Local Government to promote environmental sustainability and create a greener, cleaner Ikeja.
In her remarks,Mrs. Popoola outlined LASPARK’s commitment to developing green infrastructure, maintaining parks and gardens, and promoting tree planting across the state.
She revealed LASPARK’s plan to plant 25,000 trees across Lagos State between now and July 14, 2026,noting that Ikeja holds a special place for her and assured the Chairman of LASPARK’s readiness to ensure that the capital city takes a leading role in environmental beautification and green expansion.

“Ikeja is home for me, and we are ready to go all the way to make sure Ikeja stands out in achieving a greener environment,” she said.
Responding,AKOD welcomed the collaboration, stating that LASPARK’s vision aligns with the I.K.E.J.A Agenda’s environmental component.
He assured Ikeja Local Government’s full support for efforts to promote environmental sustainability and enhance the community’s beauty and livability.
