He also commended the State Government for its collaborative efforts with the Organised Labour Union in ensuring proper welfare of the Imo workers, thereby creating an enabling environment for comradeship, reducing greed and increasing tolerance.

“I take this very opportunity to salute and honour workers around the world at all levels, who sweat and work so hard to grease the wheel of advancement and progress of our dear country, State [Imo] and LGA [Isiala Mbano]. Your tireless efforts have made the difference in the world of work, which impacts lives for the better.”

“I commend the efforts of our governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, in promoting the welfare of workers in the state by working collaboratively with the Organised Labour Union and availing workable initiatives such as free transportation, free medical care, civil service reform, prompt salary and pension payments, worker promotions, and the recent commitment to paying gratuities to retirees.”

“It is a known fact that the productivity of every state lies in the labour workforce. Therefore, it is worthy to salute the plans of the Shared Prosperity Government to reform the Civil Service, where the workers will be proud to put in their best while still in Service”

“On this special day, as a member of the Imo State Assembly, who chairs the Transport Committee, I want to reaffirm my unwavering commitment to supporting the workforce and well-being of Imo workers. Recall that recently, I called on the reduction of transport fares and commodities in the state for the economic interest of the people and in appreciation for the government’s developmental plans. The NURTW [Imo State Chapter] responded positively to my call and reaffirmed an effective collaboration between the state government and private sectors in advancing the geometric growth of the state.”

“In the same vein, as a member of the Assembly Committee on Agriculture, I also encourage our farmers to make judicious use of this farming season to increase productivity in the agricultural sector, thereby aiding our battle against hunger amidst this economic hardship.”

“I wish you all a Happy International Workers’ Day! May our labour never be in vain”
