The United lgbo Markets Leaders,Traders Association Of Nigeria has commiserated with the family of the late first civilian governor of old Abia State, Ogbonnaya Onu.
The Association in a statement signed by its president, Chief C.F.C Obi on behalf of the market leaders stated that Chief Ogbonna Onu believes in the unity of the nation, noting that the country has lost a rare gem whose track records of achievement speaks volumes about him.
Chief Obi went further to state that Ogbonna Onu has contributed immensely to the growth of the nation, stating that he was a visionary and exemplary leader.
“The news of the demise of one of the illustrious son of Igbo land, His Excellency Ogbonnaya Onu came to us as a surprise and shocking.”
“Chief Onu is a visionary and an exemplary leader. He was the first Governor of Abia State and a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and when he the governor,he left a good foundation,even when he became a minister,he gave his best, It is indeed a sad development losing a patriotic leader who stopped at nothing at rendering best services to his people when he served in different capacities.”

“His Excellency Ogbonnaya Onu has contributed immensely to the growth of the nation.“His death is highly regrettable, at the age of 72 years, we will surely miss his wealth of experience, knack for excellence and relentless commitment to the development of the nation ”
“We pray that God grants his immediate family the fortitude to bear this loss and may his soul rest in the Bossom of the Lord.”he stated.
In the same vein,the president of the association also described the death of the paramount ruler of lsolo,Oba kabiru Agbabiaka,the osolo of lsolo as a great loss to the people of lsolo and the nation at large.
” Oba Agbabiaka is a detribalized Nigeria who believes that Nigerians are one,not minding the various ethnic,he believes in the unity of this country,it is painful that we lost him at this time Nigeria needs leaders to take the nation to a greater height.”
“Surely the vacuum created by his demise will be greatly felt by all,l pray that the good people of lsolo find someone that is more greater than the late monarch,may their souls rest in perfect peace amen “
