President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Prince Bayo Osiyemi, a veteran journalist, politician, and community leader, on his 75th birthday
In a congratulatory message signed by the Special Adviser on information and strategy,Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu underlines Osiyemi’s contributions to Lagos as a prominent All Progressives Congress leader in Mushin and his commitment to democracy and the development of the state.
The President went further to state that as a former Chair of Mushin Local Government, he laid the foundation for the council’s growth, thus advancing the state’s development.
When he served as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, Prince Osiyemi forged good relationships with the state’s top monarchs, engendering smooth working relations between the government and traditional institutions.
Popularly called “Charming Prince,” Osiyemi was a former Chairman of Mushin Local Government, newspaper editor and Chief Press Secretary to the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande (1979-1983).
He said,” l want to celebrate the media veteran on this special occasion and acknowledges his contributions to Nigeria’s public relations and media practice.”
“As family, friends, and associates gather to honour the septuagenarian, President Bola Tinubu prayed for Prince Osiyemi’s continued well-being.”
“May the Almighty God grant him many more years of vitality, joy, and fulfilment as he continues to inspire future generations,” he stated
In the same vein,the Lagos State Governor,Mr Babajide Sanwo Olu has rejoiced with his former Special Adviser on Chieftancy matters and veteran journalist, Prince Bayo Osiyemi on his 75th birthday anniversary.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,Mr Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo Olu describe him as one who has made impact in Lagos State in different capacity, while praising Prince Bayo Osiyemi contributions and impact on the media, the grassroot and governance in the last five decades.
He said,” Prince Bayo Osiyemi is worthy of celebration not only for his contribution to the growth of development of Lagos State particularly in the media industry where he has displayed exceptional skills and talents as seasoned practitioner in journalism, public relations and advertising.
“He had successfully served as Chief Press Secretary to Governor Lateef Jakande, Editor of Lagos news, Chief Executive of Penby Communications, Chairman Mushin Local government and my Special Adviser on Chieftancy matters.He displayed leadership as a good administrator in all the positions he occupied.
“He was also trusted and committed grassroot politician and public office holder,who impacted people positively especially during his tenure as Council Chairman and my Special Adviser on Chieftancy matters”
