Ahead of the forthcoming Gubernatorial election coming up in Edo and Ondo state respectively in 2024 , a non governmental organization The Press Society (TPS) is calling on journalists to apply and participate in its sensitisation workshop aimed towards building their capacity.
Considering the harsh economic reality across states in Nigeria which culminated to the recent protest, it is important for journalists covering elections to be more sensitive to this reality than other stakeholders.
To ensure this happens, The Press Society in one of its thematic area of focus Advocacy and Sensitisation is organizing a virtual sensitisation workshop for journalists who wish to cover elections in Edo and Ondo States respectively (TPS Sensitization Meeting on Edo and Ondo States Election

Investigator news gathered that the Press Society is an NGO established in 2023 by coalition of online media platforms in the era of new media to promote and protect the fundamental human rights of journalists in remote communities in Nigeria.
