Tears, Encomiums As Ndigbo Buru Otu Association Bids Late Chief Obiekwe (Good God) Farewell.

Amidst tears and encomiums and tributes of Late Chief Obiekwe Nduke (Alias Good God )as members of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria bid farewell to one of their illustrious brother and member on Saturday 22nd of November,2024.

The solemn occasion which saw family members, business associate, members of Ndigbo Buru Otu, friends and well wishers joined the family of Late Chief Obiekwe who died on the 27th October,2024 at the age of 53,as he will be laid to rest soon.

In a word of exhaltation, Pastor Israel Nwosu who took his scripture from the book of Ecclesiastics 3:1-11 stated that the late Chief obiekwe lived a worthy of emulation, urging the people not to sorrow like those who do not have hope.

“We must find comfort in the truly phenomenal life he lived,we should rejoice, knowing he has left for a better place. He has left for us on this side of humanity a legacy of inspirational service, fierce loyalty to the lgbo race and relentless contributions to the quest for a greater nation.”he said

The cleric went further to state that the deceased did not live a wasted life. He was an illustrious son and a man of deep conviction who constantly fought for what is right, just, and equitable. He simply lived for the people. He was a phenomenal leader, who, without holding public office, impacted so many in unique ways.

The Founder and President of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria,Eze Ambassador C.C. Nwokedi described Chief Obiekwe as a great philanthropist who always assist the less privilege in the society ,stating that the deceased would forever remain in his heart.

 Eze Dr Nwokedi who is the Chairman Council of Ndieze Lagos state and the Eze Ndigbo of ljegun and ljedodo community said although death was a necessary end, the death of Chief Good God has left bitter memories for him and the entire lgbo Buru Otu Association

 “As a member of my cabinet and also a member of lgbo Buru Otu Association,he lived a life worthy of emulation,he assisted so many people and paid hospital bills and give free drugs to people who have problems financially. Good God Pharmacy is one person that carries the pain of others upon his shoulder and he does not discriminate whether you are lgbo or Yoruba,he will attend to you, infact he is second to none.

The Eze Ndigbo went further to pray that God will grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss, noting that the Association will continually do its best to assist the wife and children so that they won’t feel the loss of their father,he submitted.

Speaking to lnvestigator news,the Vice President of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association Chief Dr Godswill Ogbuka stated that Chief Obiekwe was a bridge builder and one who loves to give to the poor, stating that with his act of giving,he will be greatly missed.

 “A bridge builder has left us,a man who knows what is right and just. Well know we have lost a true hero, but we have put ourselves together and prayed for his gentle soul to rest in peace,” he said.

 “We are indeed grateful for his life. It is our fervent prayer that the good Lord grant his dearly-beloved family and all of us the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.” he submitted.

 Chief Emeka who is the Onowu of Eze Ndigbo of ljegun/ljedodo Palace Also speaking, Sherif described the late Chief Obiekwe as a detribalised Nigerian, who believed in the emancipation his people.He is like a brother and a friend.

” We in lgbo Buru Otu have lost an lroko,a man who appreciates every good thing,he will be missed by all and my prayers is that he will make heaven because he lived a good life and always assist the poor and l also pray for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear this great loss.

 Also Speaking,the Vice Chairman Odorji Development Union, lagos Branch,Mr Anthony Ozor noted that Chief Obiekwe would be remembered for his goodwill to humanity and immense contributions to his community.

 ” Chief Obiekwe was the Chairman of Odorji Community lagos branch of which l am the Chairman.He has left an indelible mark and he will always be remembered by our people as he singlehandedly built our townhall in our village and has always supported and financed most of our meetings in Lagos branch”

 ” Good God has assisted many homes in Odorji community and so many children are under his scholarship,so this is a big blow not just to his family but to Odorji community Lagos branch and the entire Odorji Community in Nnewi Anambra State “he submitted.

 Lending her voice,the Ezenwanyi Gburuburu,Hon.Hgh Chief Ruvina Emeneruwa describe him as a compassionate, generous and nice man who does not like to see other people cry.”He will be missed for his kindness, generosity,unity and peace. Any time he comes to an occasion, the environment would become lively as there is no dull moment around him. My prayers for the family is for God to console them and give them the fortitude to bear the loss, also l urge them to emulate him because he was a good man”she stated .

 Investigator news reports that people from all walks of life including members of the pharmaceutical agency attended the wake keeping ceremony.

 It will be recalled that Chief Obiekwe Nduke (Alias Good God) died at the age of 57 after a brief illness and he will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and love to the less privileged and downtrodden as many children were under his scholarship. He is described by many as “Chairman Ndi floor Members “,he is the owner of Good God Pharmacy Lagos.
