Three members of a gang known as “Boko Haram” have been sentenced to prison in South Africa.
Boko Haram, a Nigerian terrorist organisation, has killed thousands and displaced millions.
Ndou Lukase Rembuluwani and Ndou Ben (both 29), as well as Khoza Ngobeni Small, were convicted (28).
They were sentenced to 384 years in prison by the Limpopo Division of the High Court in Polokwane.
They were convicted of crimes committed between September and October 2017 in the Seshego and Westenburg areas.
Murder, attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and housebreaking with the intent to rob were among the charges.
Other charges included theft, robbery, and malicious property damage, according to The Citizen.
The trio was also found guilty of violating immigration laws by being in South Africa illegally.
The gang was among the criminals who called themselves “Boko Haram” and terrorised Polokwane’s communities.
On October 9, 2017, they attacked teachers at their Westenburg residential house and stole laptops, television sets, and phones.
The muggers robbed Magezi Football Club players of their phones, soccer equipment, shoes, and clothing nine days later.
Rembuluwan, Ben, and Ngobeni were apprehended a few days later during an operation in Seshego.
