Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State marked his 65th birthday with a focus on humanitarian outreach, showcasing his commitment to the state’s welfare.

He visited a psychiatric facility in Nawfia, Onitsha Correctional Centre, St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, and Iyienu Hospital, demonstrating his compassionate servant-leadership style.

Investigator news reports that the day started with a visit to the Psychiatric Hospital in Nawfia, where Governor Soludo was warmly greeted by staff and patients.

Soludo had heartfelt conversations with patients, bringing smiles to their face.

He stressed the importance of mental health awareness, saying, “Mental health is just as important as physical health. We must break the stigma surrounding mental illness and ensure that those who need help receive it,”

While calling on the people, especially the youth, to be mindful what they consume, for the sake of their mental health.

During the visit, Governor Soludo announced the construction of a mental rehabilitation facility in Nibo and pledged support for the Nawfia facility.

Next, Governor Soludo visited the Onitsha Correctional Centre,where he spoke to inmates about hope,redemption, and rehabilitation.

He said, “Every one of us deserves a second chance. Our facilities should be places of transformation,” emphasizing vocational training for reintegration into society.

Governor Soludo then visited St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital in Onitsha, where he saw firsthand the challenges faced by the healthcare sector due to inadequate resources and overcrowding.

He asserted, “Healthcare is a fundamental human right that government should provide, and we must ensure quality care for all citizens,” reaffirming his administration’s commitment to better health outcomes in Anambra.

At Iyienu Hospital, Governor Soludo cut a birthday cake courtesy of the students, spreading joy and hope.

His enthusiasm and genuine concern for the less fortunate uplifted many hearts.

As the day ended, Governor Soludo reflected on his experiences, stating,This is just the beginning. My 65th year will be driven by a renewed purpose to uplift the undeserved, empower the vulnerable and promote healing in every corner of Anambra.”he submitted

Investigator news gathered that the Governor was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Health,Dr Afam Obidike, Chief Protocol Officer and Deputy Chief of Staff,Mr Chinedu Nwoye among others.
