Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has approved the appointment of Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), reinforcing his administration’s commitment to strengthening governance with experienced technocrats.
In a statement signed by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, on March 23, 2026 stated that Mrs. Nnake, an accomplished finance and public sector professional, hails from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
She brings over 13 years of experience spanning finance, economic planning, and strategy development.
Investigator news reports that until her appointment, she served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Anambra State, where she played a critical role in mobilizing and allocating state resources to advance socio-economic development.
She also doubled as Chairman of Solution Fun City Limited and contributed significantly across key state agencies, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency.
Recognized for her reform-driven approach, Nnake has been instrumental as the state’s Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business and focal point for Social Investment Programmes, promoting inclusive growth and policy innovation.
She also serves as Nigeria Chairperson for the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) Programme.
Before joining public service, she built a strong career in the private sector. As a Senior Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, she led over 30 engagements across various sectors and markets, earning the firm’s CEO Award in 2021 for outstanding performance.
Nnake also contributed to the development of the Anambra Vision 2070 blueprint and provided technical support for the state’s Combined Transition Plan.
Her earlier career experience includes roles as a Business Analyst at IHS Towers and an Equity Research Analyst at Meristem Securities Limited, where she covered companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
Academically, Mrs. Nnake holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos Business School, where she received the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma recognition.
She graduated with First-Class Honours in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
She has also completed executive training at Harvard Kennedy School and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy. At 39, she is married with three children.
