Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates contesting in the forthcoming local government elections to prioritize community engagement and teamwork.

Sanwo-Olu stated this on Tuesday, June 24, 2025,when he hosted an engagement session with all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) vying for elective positions in the forthcoming local government elections which took place at the Lagos House, Marina.

The Governor in his address emphasized the importance of building trust with the community by showing up, being present, and engaging with residents,stressing the need for collaboration and synergy with vice chairmen and other local government officials to drive progress at the grassroots level.

“Campaigning is more than asking for votes; it’s about showing up, being present, and building trust,” the Governor stated.

“Our people deserve leaders who are accessible, accountable, and committed to genuine service. That is the standard we must hold ourselves to.”he said

He reminded the candidates that their leadership must reflect integrity, responsibility, and a passion for service, while urging the party’s candidates to uphold high standards of leadership, including accessibility, accountability, and commitment to genuine service.

Investigator news reports that the meeting marks a significant step in the APC’s preparation for the local government elections as the Governor’s engagement with the candidates reinforces his commitment to ensuring that the APC fields candidates capable of sustaining the party’s legacy of performance and responsiveness at the community level.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of Flags to all the candidates of APC including the APC Chairmanship candidate for Ejigbo LCDA,Hon Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo and his running mate,Hon Mrs Abimbola Nicholas Ike which solidify his endorsement and candidacy.

Also, the Chairmanship Candidate for Isolo LCDA,Hon Olasoju Adebayo and his running mate,Hon Shakir Sadiq Adeola,was also presented the party’s flag which signifies party’s authority as the candidate for 2025 local government election.

Investigator news gathered that the presentation took place in the presence of the party officials,the six Councilorship candidates for Ejigbo LCDA and other key stakeholders.

In attendance at the event were members of the Governor’s cabinet, leaders of the Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and other key stakeholders from across the state.

It will be recalled that the Local government election will be taking place across the 20 local government area and the 37 LCDA within the state on Saturday 12, July 2025.
