Sanitation Workers Get Boost,As Ejigbo Council boss,Aare Taiwo Unveils New Support Packages.

In a bid to make Ejigbo LCDA one of the cleanest local government in the state,the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA,Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo has unveiled a new support package for sanitation workers, aiming to boost their morale and overall wellbeing.

Aare Taiwo disclosed this during a meeting he held with all the environmental sanitation personnel at the Council secretariat on Friday 1, August 2025.

Addressing the environmental sanitation personnel,Aare Taiwo noted that he would increase the number of sanitation workers from 33 to 60 thereby providing more employment opportunities for residents and provide them with customized overall and working tools so as to promote their safety and unity.

The Council boss who described the environmental sanitation personnel as unsung heroes of the community noted that they play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of Ejigbo LCDA, therefore a comprehensive healthcare support scheme has been introduced which include free medical consultations, routine checkups, and essential medications.

“These men and women, often referred to as sweepers and cleaners, are the unsung heroes of our community.Each day,you rise early to clean our streets, sweep our markets, cut grass along highways, and maintain the cleanliness of our public assets.

“Your work, though quiet and uncelebrated, has a profound impact on the hygiene, dignity, and beauty of our environment. You deserve more than words of praise,you deserve policies of support and acts of appreciation that reflect our gratitude.”he said

He opined that this scheme reflects the administration’s care for the wellbeing of sanitation workers.

“In furtherance of our commitment to dignity in labour,the sweepers would increase from 33 to 60 and all sixty sanitation personnel will receive customized overalls and appropriate working tools.This will promote safety, a unified appearance, and instil pride in their service to our community.

” My administration is introducing a comprehensive healthcare support scheme for sanitation workers,this scheme will provide free medical consultations, routine checkups, and essential medications because a healthy workforce is critical to effective service delivery, and this initiative reflects our care for their well-being”he stated.

TAT as he is fondly called went further to state that his administration would pay stipends promptly and transparently, ensuring that workers receive their earnings with dignity and without unnecessary bureaucracy.

He declared that no sanitation worker will be retrenched as their role is far too essential to be disregarded, while calling for interested applicants to apply to the office of the Executive Chairman as from Monday 4, August 2025.

Investigator news reports that it reaffirmed the core philosophy of Ejigbo LCDA administration, one that prioritizes people, values service, and champions inclusive development.

“We are building a new culture in Ejigbo LCDA, one where every worker is seen, heard, and supported.”

No act of service will go unnoticed, and no diligent hand will remain unrewarded.This is not just a promise, it is the standard we have chosen and the path we are determined to follow.

” Therefore,I urge all residents of Ejigbo LCDA to support and encourage these selfless workers as they discharge their vital duties, from sweeping to grass cutting and the general upkeep of our public spaces.

“Together, with compassion, discipline, and resolve, we shall build a cleaner, safer, and more prosperous Ejigbo LCDA, where everyone has a role, and every contribution counts.

Lending her voice, the Vice Chairman,Mrs Abimbola Nicholas Ike acknowledges the workers while urging them to be diligent and put more effort in anything they do

The Council Manager, Pastor Olusegun Ajaguna pointed out that as government strengthens its support,he expect discipline, punctuality, and excellence in return.

“Governance is a partnership, built on mutual respect and shared responsibility.”
