Rotaract club of lsolo under Rotary international District 9111 have launched a Post natal Maternal and Child Health outreach at lsolo community in the lsolo area council of Lagos State.
The Rotaract President Rtr Ruhamah lfere, led the Executives and members to the community on July 23rd,2024 where 50 mothers and children received quality healthcare services and 50 families benefited from Quest HMO Subsidized rates.
Speaking at the event on the theme “Post Natal Maternal Health”Rtr. Ruhamah Ifere explained that the objectives of the Mother and Child project is to focus on promoting access to quality health services and raising awareness within the Isolo Community on post natal mental health.
She went further to state that the World Health Organization (WHO) defines maternal mental health (MMH) as a state of well-being in which a mother realizes her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her community.
She said,”This is part of our efforts in creating impactful community projects for the residents of lsolo, and according to the rotary calendar,we decided to commemorate this year’s theme which is post natal maternal health and also create an enabling environment for the people. The women were not just enlightened but were able to access the service so that it can help to reduce the rate of poor health and lack of awareness of post natal maternal health ” she stated.
The irresistible president opined that the objectives of the event was to improved access to quality maternal and child healthcare services and increased awareness on post maternal mental health by strengthening community networks.

Ifere while calling on society to focus on maternal and child health said that the initiative was one of the seven focus areas of Rotary International, aiming to support mothers and children in their vital roles of bringing life into the world.
A discussion on Health by Quest HMO Representative – Mr Ola Olalekan and Dr Macaulay Victor. threw more light on the importance of Health and how to prevent complicated Health issues with focus on the Quest HMO Subsidized rates services.
Lending his voice,the Services Project Director appreciated the Project partners and selfless volunteers and Rotaractors who deployed their time and services to the success of the project.
He emphasised that bridging the gap in healthcare access is a key priority for Rotary, influencing the choice of an indigent community for this project.
Highpoint of the event is that the projct began with a free medical check up for 50 women and children featuring Blood Pressure check up, sugar test level, dispensing of drugs for children,followed by donation of nearly packed clothes for mother’s and children.
