The Rotaract Club of lsolo District 9111, on Saturday held the investiture for its 38th President, Rotaractor Ruhamah lfere
The event which held at the lsolo Town hall, lsolo, Lagos had in attendance eminent scholars from the academic world, Rotarians from various districts and well-wishers of the new president.
The newly installed president, Rotaract Ruhamah lfere in her welcome address, give glory to God almighty for the incredible opportunity to serve. In her words,”l am deeply honored to stand before you as the 38th president and first irresistible president of the Rotaract club of lsolo in District 9111″
” I believe in the power of young people to drive change and we are committed to creating opportunities that allows them to flourish as we are going to embark on membership recruitment,Rac lsolo brand awareness and sustainable impact projects ”
Speaking on her plan for the 2024/25 Rotaract year, lfere disclosed that her tenure will focus on the provision of educational and health needs in lsolo communities by providing educational books to primary school library in lsolo and assist in providing materials for maternity and child health care.
“Our goals for the year are audacious, yet achievable. Some include donation of books to primary school library, donation of drugs to hospitals and partner with mother club(Rotary club)on spelling bee competition for children “she said.
For community development, Ruhamah lfere said that the club will embark on creating an awareness against waste project, construct two water borehole projects and organize a tech empowerment for youths and a job fair for trained youths from the tech project.
She however called for partnership and support of government, corporate bodies and individuals in the delivery of these projects.
She added, “We have done the need assessment of some communities and schools in lsolo communities as well as the costing. We now need to go back to implement. We need more partnership with the Rotaract club of lsolo in the delivery of these projects by providing financing or materials for these projects.
In his farewell speech,the outgoing Rotaract president, Rotaractor Damilola Kushimo(Hope president 2023/2024) expressed confidence in lfere,stating that her experience and contributions to the Club make her fit for the role, while urging members to support the new administration in its quest to serve humanity.
“She has so much experience and has contributed to the development of our club. She’s an influencer with a good vision. I am very confident that the club will witness lots of progress and innovation,” he said.
While highlighting some of his achievements in the hope year tenure of his administration,he noted that the year was not without its obstacles and challenges but with his unwavering resilience,grit and invaluable support from his board of directors and teeming members they ended the year on an impressive note as he was able to repositioned the club to its rightful spot among the comity of service club.
The chairman of the occasion, Otunba Pradeep Pahalwani, Managing Director Securisk insurance Brokers Nigeria limited and Past President Rotary club of Lagos, Palmgrove Estate described Ruhamah lfere as a born leader who does her things with style and compassion and has no doubt that she would be successful as the Rotaract president.
” Ruhamah is a born leader,one who has a compassionate heart,a selfless leader. Her track record has shown that anything she laid her hands to do,she is always successful and l have no doubt that she would be successful. Today she is installed as the 38th president,my advice to her is for her to be herself,carry people along and work on the set goal she has put down” he stated.
Speaking to Investigator news,the guest speaker, Princess Adetoun Tade described her as a selfless leader and one that is eager to learn, while urging her to avoid distractors as there will always be a distraction but with her determination and focus,her set goals will be achievable.
She went further to state that her motifs is very important as individuals have different ways of doing things, urging the president to carry everyone along and ensure that Rotaract club of lsolo is taking to its enviable height.
The District Representative of Rotaract District 9111, Rotaractor Sariki Olasukunmi stated that Rotaract is a young based organization where young leaders come on board to attest to the need of the communities with a little token so as to support the community because the government cannot do virtually everything.
He went further to urge the newly installed president to remain resolute, determined and focus in taking the club to a greater height by coming up programs that will help to assist the community especially the educational system and peace & conflict program of Rotary club of Nigeria.
Rotaractor Olasukunmi appealed to Ruhamah to recruit more members that would help in publicizing the good work of Rotary and Rotaract and see to those who really need the support of the club.
Lending her voice, the irresistible president of Rotaract club of Egbeda, Rotaractor Onwuka Ogochukwu January describe the 38th president like a sister,one that is purpose driven, focused and easy going fellow.
“She said,” Ruhamah is like a sister to me, though the first time we met was during our training and l discovered one thing about her, which attracted her to me which is,her purpose driven character, and one who has leadership skills and qualities in her,she is so humble to the core. No wonder today she is installed as the 38th president, knowing fully well that it is not too long she joined Rotaract club of lsolo,this is highly commendable “she stated.
In the same vein,Amarachi Chirim,a friend to the celebrant commended Rotaractor Ruhamah lfere for her selfless service to humanity which has won her the leadership of Rotaract club of lsolo, stating that in her quest to take the club to its greater heights,she should remain focus,prayerful and avoid distractions of any sort.
Highlight of the event is presentation of award to the Past President Rotary Club of Lagos, Palmgrove Estate, Otunba Pradeep Pahalwani and the guest speaker Princess Adetoun Tade.
Also was the induction of a new Rotaractor Robin Kingsley who stated that his decision to join the club was borne out curiosity and quest to provide leadership capacity and give more to the society based on the little wisdom and knowledge God has bestowed on him.
