A new grassroots movement, Take Back Festac Town-Amuwo, has emerged to address the longstanding infrastructural decay in Festac Town, with a bold call to action to restore the community’s dignity and development.
The group, led by Valentine Uduebor,is aimed to mobilize residents, stakeholders, and concerned citizens to demand immediate government intervention and sustainable infrastructural renewal, focusing on the deplorable state of roads and drainages.
In a release signed by Olusegun Aladeoba,Media and Strategic Communications Consultant stated that the neglect of Festac Town has led to worsening environmental and living conditions, stifling economic growth and community morale.
He noted that for the group to amplify their demand, the movement is organizing a Five Thousand-Man Walk, a symbolic mass action that will draw attention to the urgent need for revitalization.
According to him, the date of the walk will be announced soon, noting that the organizers are calling on all Festac residents, indigenes, youth groups, civil society actors, and allies to participate.
According to the Protem President,Mr.Valentine Uduebor, “This is not just about roads and drainages,it is about dignity, development, and the future of our community. We must take back Festac Town from neglect and restore its pride of place in Lagos State.”he said
