It was a gathering of creme-la-creme in the society on Easter Sunday when the President of Pentecostal Ministers Forum of Nigeria,Bishop Dr Chidi Anthony celebrated his 55 years birthday in Lagos.
The event was attended by his immediate family,friends of the Bishop and well wishers whose lives he has positively touched in one way or the other,as dignitaries from all walks of life including the Ezendigbo of Ijegun and ljedodo,Eze Dr C.C.Nwokedi, Chairman Council of Ndi Ezes Lagos State, Ministers of the gospel,Nollywood actors,,Police officers retired and still serving who are friends with the host were seen in attendance in honour of the celebrant to graced the occasion in grand style as the guests were treated to both local and foreign dishes with highly priced wine and assorted drinks.
The colourful occasion of glitz and glam were thrilled with comedy jokes by comedian and actor Dauda as guests trooped in from different walks of life to celebrate with Bishop Anthony,an icon of great repute and a great preacher of the gospel.
Bishop Anthony who is the General Overseer of Kings in Christ Power Ministry lnternational,was visibly elated, while thanking God for sustaining him in the last 55 years.
He went further to state that the event is a dual celebration of his survival and birthday party which is usually celebrated every 24th of March, noting that this year’s birthday is quite different because of the survival party where the devil came to take his life few days before his birthday.
According to him “precisely 6days to my birthday,the devil came to take my life,l don’t know what really happened next, but before then, l remembered telling my wife who is an educationist not to go to school that day, she insisted but because l stopped her,she listened”
“After about 2hours, someone came to see me,as l tried putting on my trousers l slumped,if not for the intervention of my pharmacist friend who my wife beckoned to come and l was rushed to the hospital where l stayed for five days,by now so many people would have been preparing for my funeral. So l decided to eat and celebrate with my friends, colleagues and the kingdom seekers,so as thank God with me.”he stated.
The PMF President opined that 55years of his life,God Almighty has been faithful as life is not made of roses but with God’s grace, have vision and remain focus,one would excel, while advising other Ministers of the gospel to learn to be patient, have tolerance and not competing with any one but rather focus on God almighty, they would attain to any height of their choice.
The wife to the celebrant,Mrs Chidi Anthony expressed gratitude over the birthday celebration of her husband, stating that the celebration is to thank God for a life of fulfillment and giving him the second chance even when the devil came to steal his life.
” I celebrate my darling husband today, as a man of the people, his commitment to serve the people and God has earned him a general acceptance in the community.”
” His act of magnanimity cannot be quantified,he is a peace maker, a disciplined husband,devoted to his family and to the things of God,a man of the people,he is also a quick responder to people’s issues regardless of the inconveniences involved, a preacher of the gospel, today we are celebrating him in life and not in death,wishing him long life in good health.”she stated.
Eze Dr. Chika Nwokedi chairman council of Ezes in Lagos, Ezeokpoko 1, Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo appreciates the celebrant for his goodwill, says he is a man of many parts.
Eze Nwokedi went further to described the celebrant as a man who carries the burden of others on his shoulders to proffer solution irrespective of tribe or religion, a philanthropist who has touched many lives in great measures, a man who derives joy in giving to the poor, encourages all to emulate his philanthropic lifestyle, describes him as a man of honour.
” I am so happy with this family and l will always identify with them any time because l have known him and family for over 20years. He is a wonderful person to be with,a peacemaker and a man of God with honor ” he submitted.
Highlight of the event was the cutting of the birthday cake, prayers for the celebrant and his family.
