Residents of Ilupeju have expressed excitement and appreciation following the commissioning of newly reconstructed roads by the Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area,Hon Dr. Seyi Jakande.

The Council Chairman who was accompanied by senior aides and legislative leaders,on Tuesday, March 10 2026, officially unveiled theofficially unveiled the reconstructed Ade Akinsanya and Isijola Streets, both located off Town Planning Way in Ilupeju and improved drainage systems designed to enhance vehicular movement and reduce flooding in the area

Investigator news reports that the project forms part of his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the living conditions of residents within the council area.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Jakande explained that the reconstruction project was carried out in response to long-standing requests from residents.
He reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue delivering people-oriented projects while sustaining the developmental legacy of his father, the late former Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

Community leaders and stakeholders present at the event commended the council chairman for prioritizing infrastructure development in the area.

The Chairman of the Residents’ Association,alongside a representative of the Indian community in the neighbourhood, presented appreciation gifts to acknowledge the council’s efforts in improving the roads.

Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Funmi Tomori Ajayi, wife of the late Adeyiga Ajayi, praised Dr. Jakande’s leadership style, noting that his developmental strides reflect the progressive ideals championed by his late father.

Investigator news gathered that the commissioning ceremony attracted several political leaders and council officials, including Hon. Gbeminiyi Awodogan, Miss Ogabi, Hon. Mujeeb Daramola, Hon. Taiwo Ogungbe, Alhaji Ismail Babatunde Tunkaz, Hon. Olamilekan Adeyi, and other supervisory councillors who joined the chairman to formally inaugurate the project.
