The Nigerian Air Force Properties Limited is responsible for the Federal Government’s obligation to pay Blue Boulevard Nigeria Limited for the construction of a mall at NAF Base Port Harcourt, Rivers State. On Tuesday, the House of Representatives directed its Committee on Appropriations to include the sum of N35.403 billion in the budget for 2023 to cover this obligation.
The joint report from the Air Force and Justice committees, which was presented to the House and chaired by Shehu Mohammed Koko, was taken into consideration.
The committees had looked into claims that the Nigerian Air Force had used excessive force and circumvented the legal system in its dealings with Blue Boulevard Limited.
The Federal Government should assume responsibility for the Nigerian Air Force and its establishment as a result of the parties’ failure to uphold their obligations under agreements that were supposed to expire in 2032, according to a recommendation that was upheld by the House.
Additionally, the House mandated that Blue Boulevard Nigeria Limited return to Nigerian Air Force Properties Limited the sum of N1,275,867,611 in subscriber funds after receiving payment of N35,402,725,622.
The Federal High Court’s judgement in Suit No. FHC/PH/FHR/71/2017, which forbade the defendant from entering the shopping mall and assuming possession of it upon receipt of N35,402,725,622 was among the numerous pending injunctions that the House urged Blue Boulevard Nigeria Limited to seek to have lifted.
