……As Osun Voters Set to Reject ‘Dancing Governance’

A Public Affairs Analyst and Social Commentator, Comrade Olalekan Oni, has criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke over recent statements by the state government, describing them as baseless claims driven by fear of the forthcoming August 15 governorship election.
Oni said the outburst from the governor and his political associates only confirms what many residents of Osun State already believe—that the current administration is increasingly uneasy about the mood of the electorate ahead of the polls.
According to him,attempts by the governor’s camp to drag the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into the state’s political discourse are misplaced and unnecessary.
He maintained that the president has consistently demonstrated commitment to democratic values and credible elections, stressing that the Federal Government remains focused on governance and national development rather than partisan political battles in the state.
Oni described the alarm raised by the Osun State Government over the alleged use of “federal might” as a deliberate attempt to divert public attention from what he termed the administration’s shortcomings in governance.
He argued that despite being in office for years, the Adeleke-led government has failed to deliver meaningful development in key sectors,accusing it of prioritising media publicity and political theatrics over policies that would directly improve the welfare of residents
The analyst further stated that residents of Osun are politically aware and cannot be misled by rhetoric or political theatrics.
According to him, the electorate understands the importance of responsible leadership and will make their decision based on performance and competence when they head to the polls.
Oni therefore advised the governor and his supporters to prepare for the outcome of the election instead of raising what he described as unfounded fears.
He expressed confidence that voters in the state would support the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, noting that the people are eager for a government that prioritises accountability, development, and effective leadership.
The Public Affairs Analyst and Social Commentator added that the forthcoming election would offer Osun residents the opportunity to choose a new direction for the state’s governance.
According to him, no amount of political propaganda can reverse what he called the growing dissatisfaction among residents, insisting that the forthcoming election will signal the end of what he termed “dancing governance” in Osun State.
