Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos Leadership Dispute:Chief Aguene Is The Authentic President Says Chief Mbata

The leadership crisis in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State chapter has finally been brought to an end with the confirmation of Chief Solomon Aguene as the authentic President.
This confirmation comes after a court judgment validated Aguene’s leadership position, which was further endorsed by the President General of Ohanaeze Worldwide, Chief Senator John Azuta Mbata.
In a meeting held on Thursday 28, August 2025 at Black Diamond Hotel, Victoria Island,Lagos investigator news reports that Chief Azuta Mbata who was in Lagos to resolve the leadership crisis and see how the organization can focus in promoting the interests of the Igbo community in Lagos State.
It will be recalled that A Lagos State High Court judgment declared Chief Aguene the legitimate president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, citing his election in 2018 and elongating his tenure until April 2026.
Following the court judgement, Chief Mbata has declared Chief Solomon Aguene as the authentic president general of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State till April 23,2026, while urging others to back down, support the leadership of Chief Aguene so as to move Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State forward.
The President General of Ohanaeze worldwide,praised Chief Solomon,describing him as a capable leader, urging him to carry everyone along.
“Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene is the Authentic President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos till April 23 2026 until Judgement is Vacated”he said
Mbata urged Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos to be law-abiding and continue coexisting peacefully with their host communities with full support for Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene as President.
Investigator news gathered that in the meeting had in attendance stakeholders of Ohaneze Ndigbo including Prince Ubochi, Robert Obasi and Sunday Ossai,Ugoeze Dr Vivian Obi,Chief Ik(Patron Chairmen Forum),Chief Chidi Umunakwe Borngreat ,Chief Edwin Egboka Chairman of Chairmen Ohaneze Lagos ,Eze Chukwuakalikamdu Eze Ndigbo Oriade among others as the meeting ended peacefully with a strong resolution by all attendees to pursue peace, unity and progress.
