Nelson Mandela Award:Hon Jakande Honored For Youth Empowerment And Advocacy.

Hon Seyi Jakande, Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, has received the prestigious Nelson Mandela Award of Excellence and Integrity for his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment and advocacy.
The award, presented by the Southern Youth Forum (SYF) during a courtesy visit on December 30, 2025, recognizes Jakande’s inclusive policies, youth engagement, and transformative community projects that reflect Mandela’s ideals as the “Most Outstanding Youth-Friendly Public Servant of 2025.”
According to the SYF Board of Trustees, Jakande’s proven track record reflect Mandela’s ideals of service and ethical leadership in governance, citing his inclusive policies, youth engagement, and transformative community projects.
His administration has notably advanced opportunities for young people and strengthened the social fabric of the LCDA.

Receiving the award,Jakande dedicated the award to the youth of his community, saying, “This award is a challenge to do more. When we centre policies on the hopes and energies of young people, we build a sustainable future.”
He expressed gratitude to SYF and reaffirmed his commitment to youth advocacy.
Investigator news reports that the Southern Youth Forum, a leading NGO promoting youth empowerment and good governance across southern Nigeria, celebrated 25 years of impact in 2025.
