Neighbourhood Security Watch Operatives Shoot Restaurant Owner In Enugu.

The Neighborhood Security Watch Operatives attached to the Enugu State Government has allegedly shot and killed a well known restaurant owner, known as Oforma,also known as Ofor Onye Ofe Olugbu on Monday night.
The popular restaurant owner was reportedly killed at the Ogrute roundabout in the lgboeze North local government area of the state.
According to eyewitnesses, the security team had visited Oforma’s restaurant to arrest someone, but they encountered resistance. This led to altercation between the restaurant owner and the security operatives, resulting in Oforma being shot in the back by one of the security personnel.
In the chaos that ensued, the security operatives fled the scene, leaving behind their vehicle which was subsequently set on fire by enraged youths. Oforma was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital Ogrute where he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Tuesday.

A viral video captured the neighborhood watch group’s vehicle engulfed in flames, reflecting the heightened tension in the area as locals reacted to the incident.
Reports indicate that the youths have initiated a search for the fleeing security personnel, while a group called Concerned Igboeze North Youths (CINY) expressed grief over the loss of Oforma and called for urgent investigations to apprehend the perpetrators.

The Enugu Police Command had not issued a statement regarding the incident at the time of this report.
