The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has express a heartfelt grief over the recent flood disaster that struck Mokwa in Niger State, leaving a trail of destruction, loss of lives, and displacement.
In a press release signed by the National Public Relation Secretary, Alhaji Shamsideen Owolabi Oseni,the organization extends its deepest condolences to all affected individuals and families, mourning alongside the nation in this time of sorrow and reflection.
The release went on to say that the President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, sympathized with the victims and emphasized the need for a unified national response to such tragedies.
He described the incident as heartbreaking and urged both citizens and leaders to prioritize disaster preparedness and community safety across the country.
In his statement, Alhaji AbdulRauf admonished Nigerians to take environmental concerns seriously, noting that climate change and neglect of ecological systems contribute significantly to the rise in natural disasters.
He called on authorities to develop sustainable flood control measures and emergency response systems.
Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, offered prayers for the souls of those lost in the disaster and comfort for their families.
He called for national unity in grief and urged the Muslim community and wider society to remember the victims in their daily prayers and acts of charity.
Imam Onike also called on religious institutions and humanitarian organizations to collaborate in providing both spiritual and material support to the affected regions.
He stressed the role of faith in healing and rebuilding after such traumatic events.
