Minister of Women Affairs Celebrates International Day of Women Judges.

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has commemorated the International Day of Women Judges usually celebrated on 10th March of the year; recognizing the invaluable contributions of women judges around the world.

In a release signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,Mr Jonathan Eze, the Minister commended the courage and resilience of women in the judiciary, acknowledging their significant progress towards achieving gender equality and their invaluable contributions to the judicial institution.

“As we celebrate the trailblazing women who have broken down barriers, defied stereotypes, and paved the way for future generations of women in the judiciary,”

“I reaffirm my commitment to developing and implementing effective national strategies for advancing women in judicial justice systems and institutions at all levels.” the Minister said.

The Minister went further to emphasize the importance of women’s representation in the judiciary, noting that it is key to ensuring that courts represent their citizens, address their concerns, and hand down sound judgments.

“As we mark this day, let us continue to work together to create a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable judiciary that reflects the values of justice, equality, and human rights,” the Minister concluded.
