The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Somolu Local Government held a vibrant rally in Ward A—Onipanu, in support of their candidates for the upcoming local government elections.

The event drew enthusiastic crowds from major markets, including Somolu Model Market, Alasela Market, and the Friday/Sunday Market as traders and market leaders hailed the candidates as accessible, reliable, and responsive to grassroots needs, solidifying the APC’s popularity among the business community in Onipanu.

Investigator news reports that party stakeholders converged at the NUT Hall of Agunbiade Primary School for a formal candidate presentation, featuring Hon. Lateef Ashimi for Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Ojomu for Vice Chairman, and Hon. Tosin Odubanjo for Councilor.

In attendance were former Council Leaders Hon. Lateef Otufowora and Hon. Segun Alabi, alongside the current Councilor and Legislative Leader, Hon. Yomi Osunkoya—all declaring firm support.

The Campaign Director General, Mr. Williams Lawanson Osa, described Ward A as the backbone of Somolu politics and praised its unwavering loyalty to the party.

He was joined by Hon. Tunde Oladejo (DDG), Deacon Femi Taiwo (Secretary-General), Hon. Abosede Ogunlaja (Apex Women Leader), and Hon. Omotanwa Salawu (Welfare Chairperson).

Although Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, the current Executive Chairman, was unavoidably absent, his achievements were applauded as party members expressed strong belief that Hon. Ashimi will surpass his legacy and deepen developmental progress across all parts of Somolu.

Investigator news gathered that the presence of immediate past Chairman, Olorogun Gbolahan Bago-Stowe, added weight to the event. Other dignitaries such as Apostle Peter Oyewusi, Alhaji Fatai Bakare, Hon. Ademola Olisa-Adefalujo, and Hon. Sunday Yomi Olubamido led prayers of endorsement and solidarity.

Earlier, the Somolu Chapter of Lagos State Vehicle Technicians Association visited the APC Campaign office in Somolu to show their support and donated campaign souvenirs.

Councilorship candidates from other wards also graced the event in support. With structured mobilization, flying banners, and strong leadership unity, Somolu APC enters the July 12 election with confidence, clarity, and a firm grip on victory.
