The lawmaker representing lsiala Mbano State Constituency in the lmo State of House of Assembly,Hon Sam lkechukwu Osuji has expressed his confidence in the responsible leadership of Governor Hope Uzodinma and assured lmolites that their aspirations for a better state would be met.
Hon Osuji stated this during his second year constituency briefing held in his country home in lsiala Mbano where he interacted with his constituents, stating that the Governor has demonstrated his dedication and commitment to lmolites through his people-centred programs outlined in the Shared Prosperity Administration Agenda.
He went further to state that due to the high rate of unemployment and criminal activities among the youths, the state government has taken a more practical and bold step in empowering lmo citizens, especially the youths by introducing One kindred,One business initiative (Okobi).
According to the lawmaker,OKOBI is a super catalyst for subnational IGR expansion. essentially a massive pro-poor socioeconomic growth programme, that not only banishes poverty in its wake but creates more taxable assets and income for the states and local governments to harvest, noting that business that can be done under the Okobi initiative include poultry, palm oil production, bakery, honey production, piggery, grass cutter rearing, oil palm seedlings, palm kernel shells, cassava processing, fish farming, snail farming, water factory, goat rearing, pineapple farming, bitter kola farming, rice farming, plantain and banana plantation.
He urged lmolites to continue supporting the Governor’s initiatives, expressing confidence that before the end of his tenure,he would build upon the promising of the shared prosperity of his administration.
Highlighting some of his achievements Hon Osuji, who has been in the consciousness of Imo citizens in the last few days, following his call for price reduction in essential commodities and transport fare, noted that as the nation’s currency, naira, continues to gain strength against the dollar,he has set the pace amongst his colleagues by providing bills and motions that will alleviate the suffering of the masses and has gone ahead to meet with major stakeholders in the transportation sector, and in his capacity as House Committee Chairman On Transport,the impact of his meeting with them will be felt in the state, and Imo citizens will celebrate.
The lsiala Mbano Lawmaker, went further to pledged his commitment to continue to provide effective, efficient and pragmatic representation, through sponsorship and co-sponsorship of people oriented bills, motions and attraction of projects to Isiala Mbano State Constituency, as well as lending his voice on critical issues of State concern and importance.
He went ahead to assure his constituents that they would positively continue to feel the impact of his representation, stating that his regular interaction with them has provided him the opportunity to know their needs and how to go about it,while commending His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma for giving Isiala Mbano two slots in his 16-Member Commissioner Designates that would be inaugurated in the next few days,urging his constituents to continue to offer maximum support, loyalty and prayers for the Shared Prosperity Administration in the State.
In his words, “I didn’t go to the State Assembly to be a bench warmer. I have been very active, from sponsoring and co-sponsoring Bills and Motions to Oversight functions. Few weeks ago, I presented an urgent Motion of Importance drawing attention to the devastating Erosion Menace in Ugiri community here in Isiala Mbano.”
“The Motion was quickly adopted by the House and work will start in earnest. One of the Bills I have for presentation is the Erosion of Igbo language and the need to Institute it in every strata of o
ur life. It will be presented in the next few days.” he submitted.
Hon Sam Osuji also used the occasion to introduce the State Government’s Project, Okobi which is a product of deep research, from the Office Of Chief Economic Adviser to the State Government, while assuring Isiala Mbano Constituents that he would drive the project with them in Isiala Mbano local government area, for optimum impactful result.

In their respective reactions, Commissioner Designate (Hon Chief Mrs Ruby Emele), Isiala Mbano APC Chairman Sir CY Obichendu,Isiala Mbano APC Deputy Chairman Mr Okechukwu Uzoma all lauded Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji for his pragmatic and visionary representation, describing him as “A good wine that needs no bush” and one who has continued to make Isiala Mbano proud.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of financial packages to different groups that graced the occasion.
