The Member representing Oshodi/lsolo Constituency 2 at the Federal House of Representatives,Hon Bar. Okey Joe Onuakalusi has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of Anambra State over the passing to the glory of Professor Humphrey Ñwosu,the renowned electoral umpire who chaired the National Electoral Commission (NEC) from 1989 to 1993.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication,Mazi Chuks Ñwosu, Onuakalusi stated that Professor Ñwosu contributions to Nigerian’s democratic journey are invaluable.
He went further to state that his legacy as the chief overseer of the annulled June 12 election will forever be etched in Nigeria’s history and his impact on the country’s political landscape will be deeply missed.
“As Chairman of NEC, he demonstrated exceptional courage and integrity, which earned him the respect and admiration of Nigerians.”
“I join other well meaning leaders, personalities, and other prominent socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to expressed my profound grief to the people and government of Anambra State over Professor Nwosu’s passing. I join them in mourning the loss of this exceptional individual.”
