The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has congratulated its Director of Operations, Mr. Peter Gbejemede, on receiving the prestigious “Best Traffic Officer of the State (Senior Category)” award.
The honour was bestowed upon him by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, during the Year 2025 Public Service Week Celebration, in recognition of his exemplary service, operational competence, and unwavering dedication to the Lagos State Public Service.
Investigator news reports that Mr. Gbejemede’s professionalism and passion for public service have made him a role model for officers and men of the Agency.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, praised his contributions to traffic management and enforcement operations across the State.
The award is a testament to Mr. Gbejemede’s hard work and commitment to ensuring sanity, safety, and efficiency on Lagos roads.His steadfast commitment, exceptional leadership, and meritorious performance in advancing the mandate of LASTMA towards ensuring sanity, safety, and efficiency across Lagos road corridors.
Congratulating the award recipient, the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, lauded Mr. Gbejemede’s sterling contributions to traffic management and enforcement operations across the State.
He urged him to sustain his commendable efforts and remain a true embodiment of the Agency’s core values discipline, integrity, and excellence.
Mr. Bakare-Oki went further to commend the entire workforce of the Agency, describing the honour as a reflection of the collective dedication, operational synergy, and shared vision of LASTMA officers in their daily service to the motoring public.
He, however, charged all personnel to remain steadfast, dedicated, and professionally diligent in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities, in alignment with the vision of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, for a safer, more efficient, and seamlessly mobile Lagos.
Investigator news gathered that Mr. Peter Gbejemede Emmanuel is an alumnus of several reputable institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics from Lagos State University (LASU), a Postgraduate Diploma in Marine Environment from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and a Master’s Degree in Transport Planning and Management from the same University.
He joined the Lagos State Public Service in the year 2000 and was subsequently re-designated into the Traffic Officer Cadre where he distinguished himself in various leadership capacities.
Gbejemed was honoured as LASTMA’s Best Zonal Head in 2016 and later as Best Commander in 2018, before rising through the ranks to his current position as Director of Operations.
