The Kogi State Government has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing Major General Waidi Shaibu, a son of the state, as the new Chief of Army Staff.
In a press statement issued in Lokoja by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo,Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo described the appointment as a testament to the President’s commitment to fairness, equity, and merit recognition.
The Governor noted that Major General Shaibu’s elevation is a source of pride for the people of Kogi State, citing his professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty.
Ododo expressed confidence in Shaibu’s ability to strengthen the Nigerian Army and improve national security.
While congratulating Shaibu on his appointment, Ododo assured President Tinubu of the state’s unwavering support and loyalty to his administration. He also prayed for Shaibu’s success and divine guidance in his new role.
