Government appointees from Mopamuro Local Government Area in Kogi State have strategized to mobilize residents for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The meeting, held at the residence of Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, State Commissioner for Information and Communications,is aimed to ensure massive grassroots participation in the voter registration process.
Investigator news reports that in attendance was the Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Local Government Special Assistants to the Governor, and Ward Special Assistants to the Governor.
Also present were appointees from various Boards, Agencies, and Commissions representing Mopamuro.
While welcoming participants to the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cultural Integration (Kogi West), Hon. Moses David Sunday, commended the officials for their commitment to ensuring that Mopamuro records impressive turnout figures in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
Hon. Sunday stressed the importance of massive grassroots mobilisation to ensure that the voices of the people are heard through the ballot.
In his remarks, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo urged all government officials to remain in their respective wards and intensify efforts to mobilise eligible residents.
He emphasised that Mopamuro must “record and retain important political relevance” through a strong voter base.
Investigator news gathered that a committee was constituted to coordinate mobilization efforts, with Hon. Moses David Sunday as Chairman and Hon. Obasun Samuel as Secretary.
Other members of the Committee include Hon. Temitope Ajayi, Hon. Steve Iwalaye, Hon. Elvis Abereoran, Hon. Olasunmole Fatobi, Hon. Ishola Sunday, Hon. Dennis Komolafe, Hon. Mercy Obajemu, Hon. Olu Ansewo, among others.
The committee will work to mobilize eligible residents to participate in the voter registration exercise, emphasizing the importance of a strong voter base for Mopamuro’s political relevance.
It will be recalled that the mobilization drive aligns with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s directives, which mandate all political appointees to return to their villages and mobilize citizens for voter registration,so as to ensure impressive turnout figures in the ongoing voter registration exercise and record,retain important political relevance through a strong voter base.
The Committee expressed readiness to mobilise every eligible resident of Mopamuro to participate in the voter registration exercise, reinforcing the local government’s commitment to active civic engagement and electoral participation.
