Eze Ambassador.C.Chika Nwokedi, the Chairman Council of Ndieze Lagos state on Sunday excoriated Dr Jonathan Nnaji, over his recent unflattering statement that Ezeship in Igbo speaking is subject to authentication with the Board of Trustee(BoT) chairman of the Igbo speaking community, that those who fail to be authenticated stand disowned.
Eze Chika Nwokedi, Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijeododo Lagos stated this on Sunday at his palace while addressing journalists stating that Nnaji has aired by his frivolous claim of BoT chairmanship of the Igbo speaking community, Lagos.
He maintained that going by the extent law of the social cultural body, Nnaji has aired and must be cleared on that.
Nwokedi revealed that the BoT of the Igbo-speaking comprises of fourteen decision-makers; eleven of these members are dead, with three remaining. One of the three leaders alive has retired to his home town but two are here in Lagos, which is; the secretary of the group of trustees(Jonathan Nnaji) who now claims to be the chairman, and one other.
The Eze Ndigbo went further to say that it is on sheer selfishness that Nnaji cunningly installed himself as chairman from the position of secretary to extort Ezes in the name of authentication.
“As the Chairman Council of Ndieze Lagos state, according to the constitution,it states that when a member dies, there should be a replacement by election, but none of this was conducted; instead, Jonathan Nnaji cunningly installed himself as chairman from the position of secretary to extort Ezes in the name of authentication.”
“The original chairman now late is Chief Uche Chukwuka, who died 16 years ago. I joined the Igbo-speaking community through the late chairman in 1999. The late chairman is my mentor and from Enugu State, which means that the next chairman cannot come from Enugu State.”
“Jonathan Nnaji,who is claiming chairman of the BoT Igbo-speaking community, is from Enugu State and has gone against the constitution, which states that chairmanship should be rotated amongst the eastern zone which makes his position null and void and should deceiving the lgbo community by using cheap blackmail to insult and ridicule.the Ezes in council as we will no longer tolerate such insolence ”
“Nnaji is not the BoT chairman and should henceforth stop parading himself, as lgbo speaking community is yet to conduct a new election. It is because of his selfish interest which has resulted lgbo speaking community for over 5years now to have two factional president in the persons of High Chief Sunday Udeh and High Chief Sunday Eze and one who claims to be BoT Chairman has not done anything, rather he told us (lgbo speaking community)last year that they are going to conduct an election, asking the contestants to pay the sum of N250,000 and he paid the money into his personal account whereas lgbo speaking community has their own account ”
“Do anyone collect money meant for an association into his personal account,this is fraudulent act,assuming the chairmanship role of BoT wouldn’t have been a hullabaloo, but for his extortionist nature of collecting money from individuals and wanting all Ezes to authenticate Ezeship with the sum of N250,000 and a goat is a sham”he stated.
Eze Okpoko 1 of Obodoukwu urge well meaning members of the council and the entire lgbo speaking community to disregard every fraudulent call made by Jonathan Nnaji and continue to diligently assume the roles and responsibilities that come with rulership in accordance with constitutional rights as he should be regarded as a fraudster and an imposter.
He said,” ln the law of Lagos state and Nigeria,when you have a group of 14 people 9 is dead and 3 is retired to their village can two make a law that should be binding,no is the answer except 8people,to us in the Council of Ndieze he is an impostor and should stop parading himself as chairman, causing problems. They are yet to conduct election and if election is conducted today,he will not not be elected because he is from Enugu state with the last chairman who died 16years ago and till date,there was no election recorded anywhere and if there was,the question is who elected them or who conducted the election?
“However,the leadership assertions made by Jonathan Nnaji can never be implemented on Ezes, for he is not considered or regarded as BoT chairman Igbo speaking unless the Board of Trustees is reformed and zoned accordingly.”
“Nnaji is fighting a lost battle because l can never support evil and collect bribe rather l will stand by the truth and justice and this is why he is fighting me “he submitted.
Investigator news gathered that an online publication circulating the social media with the caption “Igbo Speaking community BOT disowns group parading themselves as Council of Ndieze lgbo “, according to the publication it stated that the Board of Trustees of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, has disowned a group parading themselves as Council of Ndieze Igbo led by Eze Chika Nwokedi and warned members of the public to be weary of the group because they are not recognized by the BOT of the Igbo Speaking community.
Eze Ambassador Nwokedi has blatantly refute this claim as false and should be regarded as fake because Jonathan Nnaji is not a BoT Chairman as acclaimed by the writer of the said publication
