The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Imaan Suleiman, is set to deliver a keynote address tomorrow, January 20, 2025, at SOAS University of London.
The event, themed “A future for every child: Unlocking opportunities for street and rural children,” is part of the “Advancing Africa’s Agenda for Children 2040: Preventing street-connected children in West Africa” conference.
Investigator news reports that as a vocal advocate for women’s empowerment and children’s rights, Hon. Imaan Suleiman has been at the forefront of promoting gender equality and social development in Nigeria.

Her ministry has launched several initiatives, including the “Nigeria for Women” project, a collaborative effort with the World Bank to empower women through financial inclusion, skills development, and economic opportunities.
At the SOAS University of London event, Hon. Imaan Suleiman will share her insights on the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and promoting their well-being.
Her address is expected to highlight the need for collective action to address the challenges faced by street-connected children in West Africa.
Meanwhile, the Almajiri Child Rights Initiative (ACRI) will launch a Community Children Fund (CCF) as part of its commitment to safeguarding children’s rights across Africa.
The CCF initiative aims to provide a safety net for street-connected children, offering them access to education, healthcare, and economic empowerment opportunities.
