It was moment of joy, funfair and pageantry as the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, UNJP resumed office amidst rousing welcome from members of staff of the ministry
The atmosphere of the office wore garb of excitement and happiness on the arrival of the good spirited and cheerful Commissioner who came with members of the Renewed Conference of Women Support Group ably led by Hon. Mrs Kate Osigwe who were adorned in their beautiful attire.

The staff who could not hide their joy, hugged the Commissioner having missed her spirit of benevolence and magnanimity since January.
In her speech, the visibly happy Commissioner, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu noted that she was excited that she is back to continue to support the government of Senator Hope Uzodinma and the First Lady, Chief Barr. Chioma Uzodinma.
She urged the staff to remain committed, united and avoid gossip, stressing that hardwork will be the order of the day.
She insisted that, the First Lady, Chief Barr Mrs Chioma Uzodinma has been very supportive. “The Governor’s Wife has given the ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare teeth, adding that she has been her sister and First Lady. Her Excellency has taken this ministry as her baby, while urging the staff not to disappoint her.
“This second term is work work work and there would be no room for filibustering. We must support the Governor to succeed”, Ugwu submitted.

The Commissioner who is personification of diligence and devotion, insisted that power comes from God, adding that God gives power. God has the hearts of Kings and Queens and He alone determines who becomes what.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Godson Okoma described the Commissioner as being blessing to humanity and her generation. He pointed out that since she came to the ministry, a lot of staff have risen to higher level. “I have loved working as a Permanent Secretary with the Commissioner”, he spoke with beam of smile on his face. She is humble and urbane.
Highlight of the office resumption was harvest of prayers for the Governor, the wife, Commissioner and members of staff.
