Jakande’s Back-to-School Program Set To Ease Financial Burden On Parents

Hon. Seyi Jakande, Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, has taken a significant step towards bolstering educational resources in the community by engaging pivotal figures in the education sector.

Investigator news reports that his forthcoming Back-to-School program, a cornerstone of his HEWA Agenda, aims to provide tangible benefits to the community, particularly public primary school students.

The initial meeting saw a diverse group of stakeholders convened at the Council’s Secretariat, including representatives from the Parents Forum, Food Vendors, and the School Board Management Committee—each playing a crucial role in the operation of public schools across the LCDA.

In addition, Jakande engaged with all headteachers from local public primary schools in the community during a subsequent gathering at Nusara Ud Deen Primary School, situated on Ayantuga Street in Mushin.

At both meetings, Hon. Jakande underscored the critical importance of preparing students ahead of the programme’s launch, scheduled for Wednesday, September 10. This initiative is dedicated solely to public primary school students within the community

Addressing the audience,Jakande emphasized his administration’s dedication to long-term educational empowerment, citing initiatives like the Tech Boot Camp and distribution of free GCE forms to underprivileged students “it represents a robust investment in our children’s futures. We are determined to ensure that every child receives the necessary support for success.”

“This initiative is Back-to-School, Money-back-in-Your-Pocket. It means more resources in your pockets as families prepare for the new school year.”

He elaborated on various projects aligned with his HEWA Agenda, including enhancing community security through the installation of surveillance cameras, the “Light Up Odi-Olowo” initiative, and the establishment of a Joint Task Force to uphold peace and order.

Hon. Jakande also reflected on recently concluded educational initiatives, such as a Tech Boot Camp and the distribution of free GCE forms to underprivileged students.

“Education is the foundation of any thriving society, and we must arm our youth with the essential tools for success. Our commitment extends well beyond this programme; we are dedicated to long-term educational empowerment,” he asserted.

Furthermore, Jakande encouraged stakeholders to engage actively in the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), stressing the significance of civic participation.

“I urge everyone to register and secure their PVCs. Your involvement in the democratic process is crucial for the advancement of our community,” he emphasized, nudging them on a mobile registration initiative he designed to ease the registration process.

Investigator news gathered that stakeholders expressed their enthusiastic support, inspired by Jakande’s initiatives as the attendees commended his dedication, with several drawing parallels to the legacy of his father, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first Executive Governor of Lagos State, whose influence continues to resonate today.
