The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande,on Monday 2,February 2026, launched a school vaccination outreach to ensure every eligible child receives the Measles-Rubella vaccine.
He visited Masterpiece Nursery and Primary School, supervising the vaccination process and urging parents to cooperate with health officials.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Jakande reaffirmed the importance of the campaign: “Measles and rubella remain preventable causes of childhood illness and death.
No eligible child in Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye should be left behind. The vaccine is safe, effective, and critical to closing immunity gaps.”
His direct supervision of the vaccination teams demonstrated hands-on leadership and built confidence among parents and teachers.
The Chairman went further to call on parents, guardians, and community leaders to cooperate with health officials as they move from street to street and school to school, stressing that the council has provided political will and logistical support, but families must ensure their children are presented for vaccination
Investigator news reports that the outreach forms part of the national second-phase campaign to eliminate measles and rubella targeting children aged 9-15
It will be recalled that the Lagos State phase was earlier flagged off by the Wife of the Executive Governor, Mrs. Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, reflecting strong political commitment at the state level.
The campaign enjoys technical backing from the Lagos State Health District IV, the Federal Ministry of Health, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, and international partners such as the World Health Organization.
Investigator news gathered that Hon. Jakande was accompanied on the outreach by the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr. Afolami-Ojulari Muheebah Olaide, and other council officials, who provided professional and logistical support to the exercise.
