Terrorist organisation Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) has taken responsibility for the attack on Abuja’s Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center on Tuesday evening.
Earlier, it was revealed that terrorists broke into the prison and freed 879 inmates, including prominent suspects.
The terrorist organisation demonstrated some of its members shooting their way into the detention facility in a widely shared video clip on Wednesday night.
The 38-second video showed the terrorists marching in packs as buildings and vehicles caught fire.
The video was released by the Islamic State’s A’maq Agency with the Arabic caption: “Islamic State fighters attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.”
