Isolo Youths Embrace Digital Empowerment at International Youth Day Celebration

On Saturday, 31st August 2024, the Isolo Local Branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria marked International Youth Day with a significant event at the Isolo Youth Center, themed From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.
The event attracted a vibrant gathering of youths determined to harness digital innovations for a better future.
The highlight of the day was a compelling lecture delivered by Engr. Taiwo Salahudeen, a prominent tech consultant associated with Big 4 Nigeria.

Engr. Salahudeen shared profound insights on the importance of digital tools in driving sustainable development, urging Nigerian youths to transition from being mere consumers to creators of digital content that spurs progress across various sectors.
Speaking to Investigator news,Hon Adelabu Mustapha, representing the Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2 at the Lagos State Youth Parliament, emphasized the importance of youth leadership and active participation in governance. He called on the youths to leverage digital platforms for advocacy and accountability, reinforcing their role in shaping the nation’s future.
Lending his voice,Oliyide Ayodele Abdulhafees, another distinguished guest, spoke on the need for continuous digital literacy.
He highlighted the rapidly changing digital landscape and the necessity for youths to stay informed about technological advancements, encouraging them to transform challenges into opportunities for innovation.
The coordinator National Youth Council of Nigeria, lsolo branch,Comrade Akibu Sikiru Ololade,underscored the council’s commitment to closing the digital divide and empowering the youth economically.
Comrade Ololade reaffirmed the council’s dedication to ensuring that every young person is equipped with the digital skills needed to thrive in the modern world.
A workshop led by Engr. Timothy Obinna provided participants with hands-on experience in digital content creation. The interactive session allowed youths to explore various digital tools and strategies to enhance their online presence and contribute positively to the digital ecosystem.
Adeyemo Fausat Olabisi, the District Commissioner of the Nigerian Girl Guide Association, also addressed the attendees, stressing the critical role of digital skills in personal and professional development. She encouraged the youths to embrace digital transformation to remain competitive in today’s global market.
