The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing sensitive materials to area councils in Ekiti State ahead of the state’s gubernatorial election on Saturday.
According to reports, security agents led election officers from the state’s 16 local government units on Thursday to ensure the safe transfer of important materials as voters prepare to vote for a new leader.

Journalists and party leaders were present as the materials were delivered at the INEC state office in Ado-Ekiti.

During a press conference with journalists, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Adeniran Tella, stated that electoral officials should be early at their designated councils so that they may be transported to assigned polling units before Saturday morning.

On Saturday, he expressed the expectation that materials will arrive on time. To prevent electoral fraud, each local government’s ballot papers were color-coded, according to Dr Tella.

He further mentioned that the result sheets were tailored to each polling unit.

Mr Kayode Babade of the APC, Mr Kehinde Adeniyi of the ADC, and Mr Ifedayo Iyaniwura, Chairman of the IPAC in Ekiti State, praised INEC for the transparency with which the materials were delivered.

BIVAS machines, Ballot papers, Result sheets, Booklets, and the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System were among the resources supplied. EC 8A, B, C, D, E, EC 4zero G, 4 zero G1 and 2, and EC 4zero G1 and 2.
