…….As lhitte Mbieri Executive Pays Courtesy visit.

The Member Representing Mbaitoli State Constituency in the Imo State House Of Assembly, Hon Engr Innocent Ikechukwu Ikpamezie has assured the people of Ihitte-Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State of his total and unrestrained support in attracting more dividends to the people.
Hon Ikpamezie gave the assurance when he received the new Executive of Ihitte-Mbieri Town Union led by the President General, Comrade Austin Egejuru, who came on a courtesy visit to his office at the Assembly complex on Friday 5th July 2024.
The Lawmaker while congratulating the new Executive on their election and inauguration,pledged to ensure development is brought to the community, urging them to continue to show support to the 3-R Shared Prosperity Leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma, who has shown great love and affection for Mbaitoli local Government by picking one of their daughters and wives as his deputy.
He described the community as his second home and would go the long way to bring peace and development to foster progress, which will eventually attract prosperity to the people.
In his words,”I am very happy with your visit. Ihitte-Mbieri has become my second home. On the day of your election, I made selfless sacrifice and efforts to ensure a flawless process, where delegates were drawn from the 18 villages that make up Ihitte-Mbieri Community.”
‘Throughout the process, I ensured peace. This is because Ihitte-Mbieri is a community I so much love. You and your Executive have emerged victorious, I therefore call on everyone who participated and witnessed the election to accept the outcome, for the peace, development and progress of Ihitte-Mbieri. Four months after, you and your Executive are here in my office to show appreciation. I feel honoured”,he stated
Continuing, the pragmatic lawmaker encouraged the President General to embrace everyone, including his opponents in the keenly contested election and leaders in the community, who may not have supported his emergence as President General,”Work with everyone and ensure no stakeholder is sidelined throughout your three year tenure. This way, you will win over most of those who didn’t support you initially. This is politics, and it is a game of numbers and interest. I want Ihitte-Mbieri to be together as one, and it is your leadership that will determine it. Be that determinant factor. Peace brings development and prosperity”.he submitted
Hon lnnocent lkpamezie who highlighted some of his achievements in the last one year in office as the lawmaker representing Mbaitoli State Constituency, noted that he has lived up to expectations through quality people-oriented bills and motions, numerous empowerment programmes, offsetting hospital bills of Mbaitoli indigenes, facilitating employment opportunities for sons and daughters of Mbaitoli, sharing of palliatives,promising to do better as he is in his second year of legislative assignment.
Earlier, the President General of Ihitte-Mbieri Town Union, Comrade Austin Egejuru appreciated Hon Ikpamezie for his doggedness and zeal to move Mbaitoli local government forward, while describing him as a leader worthy to be emulated, especially on his selfless sacrifice in promoting peace and development, not only in Ihitte-Mbieri Community but in the 34 communities that make up Mbaitoli local government area.
Comrade Egejuru went further to state that Hon Ikpamezie is an open hearted leader who has not only changed the narrative in promoting legislative duties and responsibilities, but in ensuring accountability through constant briefings of his constituents of his activities as a lawmaker.
The very eloquent and vibrant President General informed the only voice from Mbaitoli that they came to thank him for enthroning peace in Ihitte-Mbieri Community by ensuring peaceful conduct of the Town Union election that brought him as the President General.
In his words, “We have come to appreciate you. You are a good man. You are worthy to be given a Chieftaincy title in Ihitte-Mbieri Community, as a show of appreciation for what you have done for us. We bow in appreciation. You have shown that you are our brother and friend.”
“On the day of the Town Union election, you took extra steps to provide complimentary security, at your own cost. Even during the election proper, when it appeared there would be chaos, you took charge and brought back normalcy. You stood firmly for justice and fairness. I and My Executive were declared winners. I am a beneficiary of your goodwill. I am a beneficiary of your trust. Today, we have come to thank you. We are a product of that your selfless sacrifice. We are not thankless”.
Comrade Egejuru further said, *”I am therefore pledging on behalf of Ihitte-Mbieri Town Union that we will continue to support the Imo State Government. We want to engage with government. ”
“As a Cooperative Body, there are a lot of things we can do for government, in partnership. For example, the Local Government Election is coming, so we need to be properly carried along. This should be a way for us to repay you and the Shared Prosperity leadership in the State. We are very grateful”.he submitted.
