….Hon Osuji restate commitment to constituent growth

A group known as Ugiri Clan Elders Council has expressed satisfaction and passed a vote of confidence on the Member Representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Barrister Chief Sam lkechukwu Osuji in his good representation to the people.

The group who described Hon Osuji as a legislator with conscience,one who has become a big lroko tree that protects and takes care of smaller tree, stated this when they paid a courtesy visit to the lawmaker in his office at the Assembly complex.

The leader of the delegation and Apex leader of the Ugiri Clan Elders Council, Chief Dr Sir Bennett Uwakwem, stated that the visit was in appreciation of the good works, quality representation and most importantly, the concerted efforts of Hon Barrister Sam Osuji to draw the attention of the State Government to the devastating erosion menace that has left some parts of Ugiri community in total disarray and almost cut off from the rest of Isiala Mbano local government area.

Dr Uwakwe went further to state that the lawmaker vsited the devastating area to see the erosion site and promised to do something about it.

He said “you went back and moved a strong motion, calling on the State Government to intervene. You shedded tears on the floor of the house, while presenting your motion of urgent importance,your colleagues joined and supported you. ”

“We thank the Speaker who gave you the floor to speak while presenting your motion. We watched you on television, heard your voice on radio, read you on social media and newspapers, drawing the attention of Government to the devastating erosion menace in our community. We are very grateful. We are very proud of you. On behalf of Ugiri Clan, we say thanks and continue your good works”.he submitted.
Responding, the eloquent legislator congratulated the Ugiri Clan for always taking the front burner whenever political discourse was being discussed in Isiala Mbano, describing them as the best in Isiala Mbano State Constituency.

In his words, Sam Osuji said, “Ugiri has always been the first to recognize authority. I am very proud of you. History has what it takes to pay people back. Your traditional ruler, Hrh Eze Marcel Agbaka is a person I have known over the years. He was brought to my office years ago when I was Sole Administrator of Isiala Mbano. When I saw him, I knew he would be a great traditional ruler, and I prayed he would be a worthy and caring ruler.”he stated.

On the burning issue of erosion menace in Ugiri,the lawmaker noted that as a legislator,he has some limitations,but assuring them that in no distant time this challenge will be a thing of the past as the Governor is a God sent governor and has come to ameliorate the plights of the people.

He further restate his commitment to the growth and development of Isiala Mbano, pledging their support as he cannot take it for granted.

It would be recalled that the people’s lawmaker, Hon Sam Osuji, had about two weeks ago sponsored a teary Motion on the devastating erosion menace in Umuokpara and Nkwo-Mbaa in Ugiri Oka Ward In Ugiri Clan in Isiala Mbano. The Motion which drew out tears from Hon Sam Osuji moved the State Assembly to urge the State Government for immediate intervention, to save the Ugiri Community from being cut off completely.
