The All Progressive Congress (APC) Imo State held its Ward Congress on Wednesday, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Chairman of the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee, Hon. Godwin Anaughe, praised Governor Hope Uzodimma’s leadership at the preceding Stakeholders meeting, saying it has brought unity to the party and economic transformation to the the state.

Party elders and leaders from across the state attended the event at Government House Owerri, showcasing the party’s strength and solidarity.
Anaughe stated that Article 20.1 of the APC constitution empowers the National Working Committee to constitute the Ward and LGA Committee to conduct the congresses.
He explained that their mandate is to conduct credible congress to elect party officers at Ward and local government levels to administer the party for the next four years.

Anaughe attributed the party’s unity to Uzodimma’s leadership, saying, “The transformation in the state gives us confidence that APC will sweep Imo State in 2027.” He commended Uzodimma for his commitment to party building and development.
Party members described the Ward congress as successful and peaceful, expecting a smooth local government congress ahead. “It’s a new dawn for APC in Imo State,” one member said. “With Uzodimma’s leadership, we’re poised to make history in 2027.”
Furthermore, members of the committee present at the congress include: Hon. Godwin Anaughe ( Chairman), Hon. Sadiq Abbas Tafida, Hon. Luke Orishe, Benjamin Osas Iredia, Barr. Kennedy Ozo-Enemmo, Engr. Theo Mukoro, and Lucky Ajokperiniovo ( Secretary).
