The Chairperson of Isolo LCDA, Mrs. Olajumoke Olasoju on Tuesday teamed up with her counterparts in Oshodi-Isolo LGA and Ejigbo LCDA, Mrs. Fadekemi Al-Maroof and Mrs. Fatima Oloyede-Bello respectively to empower women and indigent residents across Oshodi-Isolo LGA.
The event tagged ‘Women Empowerment Program and Palliative’ was held at the Ejigbo Council Secretariat as part of activities of the monthly meeting of Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA) hosted by the trio.

At the event, beneficiaries who were evenly selected across the federating council areas from various strata of the community smiled home with sewing machines, deep freezers, cash sums and food items as palliatives.
Speaking on behalf of the host-chairpersons, the President of the Association, Mrs. Kehinde Ajala who led other chairpersons to the event explained that the empowerment and palliative distribution was to replicate a similar initiative by the First Lady, Dr. Mrs Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and ultimately complement the laudable welfarist strides of their spouses at their respective council areas.
On their part, the Chairmen of Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs, Olasoju Adebayo and Hon. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello thanked their spouses and LASCCWA for the laudable gesture as they promised continued support for their activities.
Earlier, the program featured inter-religious prayers, motivational talks and religious counselling from Imam Abdul-Jamiu Oyebo, Imam Abdul-Haheem Mudathir and Pastor David Oluwole, respectively.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with investigator news were full of gratitude to the chairpersons for the laudable gesture with a promise to make judicious use of the empowerment benefits.
‘I’m delighted to have been selected for this empowerment program. I’m a fresh graduate from fashion school and I’ve been worried about how to get a machine to set up my own sewing business.”

Investigator news reports that the event was also graced by the council leader of Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Hon. Rasheed Obasa, his counterpart in Isolo, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi Alarape, the SLG of Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Hon. Smart Akinleye, his counterpart in Isolo LCDA, Hon. Sikiru Adeshina Salisu among other council officials.
Also worthy of mention is the presence of the Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the three council areas, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, Barrister Gani Bello and Alhaji Fatai Kasumu among other party officials and notable individuals.
