Hon Olasoju Calls for Partnership In Progress As Isolo LCDA Launches 6th Legislative Council

Isolo Local Council Development Area has embarked on a new journey of progress and unity with the inauguration of its 6th Legislative Council.
The Executive Chairman Olasoju Adebayo, at the proclamation ceremony, emphasized the need for partnership between the legislative and executive arms of government to drive good governance, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
The event which took place on Tuesday 29, July 2025 at the legislative chamber had in attendance the Council Manager Mrs. Mojisola Ogabi, APC Chairman Barrister Gani Bello,Party Leader Otunba Jide Oni,former party chairman, Alhaji Wahab Raji, immediate past deputy leader and Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Kanayo Osondu and Hon. Yusuf Agbabiaka, respectively among other notable personalities.
The council boss reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and impactful projects, stressing that progress is only possible when both arms of government work as partners.
While appreciating the past councillors for their selfless service to the people, he urged the new councillors to embrace unity of purpose, maintain a cordial working relationship with the executive, and prioritize the needs of their constituents above personal or political interests.
Investigator news reports that after the proclamation ceremony and administration of oaths, the following members were elected as the principal officers; Hon. Oni Yusuf from Apena Ward emerged as the Council Leader while the deputy leader position went to Hon Idris Babatunde Amusa; councillor representing Akinbaiye Ward.
Other principal officers pronounced after a nomination process were: Hon. Nofisat Shobayo-Lawal (Ilasamaja Ward) – Majority Leader,Hon. Adeolu Ikugbayigbe (Ajao Estate Ward) – Chief Whip,Hon. Jamiu Ajose (Okota Ward) – Deputy Majority Leader and Hon. Kehinde Ajala (Ishagatedo/Ire-Akari Ward) – Deptuty Chief Whip.
In his address, Yusuf Oni expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for entrusting him with the leadership role, describing the honor as a privilege and a testament to their trust in his abilities.
The Leader assured the public that the legislative arm would work in harmony with the executive arm to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
He emphasized that the legislators would maintain an open-door policy, ensuring that the office remains accessible to the people and that their concerns are efficiently addressed.
The Leader of the 6th legislative arm pledged to support the vision of the Executive Chairman, working together to record success stories and bring development to the various wards in Isolo LCDA.
Speaking with investigator news,the leader noted that together with the other Councilors,he would together as a team to ensure that the people of Isolo LCDA gets the dividends of democracy.

Yusuf urge the people to be patient and support the administration of Hon Olasoju, stating that there is no development without patience, assuring them that they would remain servant leaders to the people.
The leader of the party, Otunba Jide Oni urged the Councilors to cooperate with the Chairman, listen to the wise counsel of the elders and that of the party so that they bring about the desired results in their various ward.
Investigator news gathered that after their inauguration, the new councillors paid a courtesy visit to Apex Leader Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale to appreciate him for his immense support and guidance.
The former Lagos State APC State chairman congratulated the new grassroots lawmakers charging them to be focused on performing their legislative duties to the best of their abilities.
He urged them to maintain a harmonious and cordial relationship with the executive arm and always put the interest of their constituents above personal gains.
The apex leader ascribed the seamless emergence of principal officers among the councillors to their admirable maturity as he commended the council chairman for not interfering in the process. He concluded by wishing the lawmakers a successful tenure.
